How Does the Affiliate Scheme Work?  You will get paid a commission on purchases by people who click from your site to www.SpottyGreenFrog.co.uk and make a purchase online. 

How Do You Know that a Customer Came From My Site?  This is tracked using a tracking code which needs to be added to the links from your website to ours.  We’ll help you to get the code right but:

• Remember to add the links – if you forget, we will not know that you sent us a customer and will not be able to pay commission
  
• Check links regularly.  Sometimes products are discontinued or changed.  Broken links will not make you money!

Send Your Visitors to Relevant Pages  If you are mainly sending visitors to us who are interested in gardening, it is better to send them to the gardening section of Spotty Green Frog than to the home page.  They are more likely to find something which they want to buy if they go to a part of the site which is relevant to them.  So in your links use the url from the page which you want them to go to and then add your affiliate code. 

Using a link to a page other than the home page is called deep-linking.

Tell Your Visitors Why They Should Go to Spotty Green Frog  The more you tell your visitors, the more likely they are to click on a link.  Things which you can tell them about include:

• New products – we have a steady stream of new products.  Link directly to them.
• Product reviews – if you or a friend have tried a product which we sell, you can carry out a review.  The more you can tell them about the features and benefits of the product, who it is suitable for, what you liked about it, what you did not like etc. the more likely your visitors are to click through.  Include pictures – just check with us if you are using pictures off the site because most of them are owned by the suppliers but they generally are pleased to say that you can use the pictures.
  
• Other people’s product reviews – if you have not tried a product, you can refer to other people’s product reviews.  Be honest, but there is nothing to stop you saying that you have seen several positive reviews on other people’s sites.
