If you are looking for kids trikes, look no further. This Mookie Smart Trike is fantastically innovative and well-designed. The first thing is that the trike is suitable for kids from just 10 months old. There is a safety harness which goes right around the child which together with the seatbelt keeps them safely on the tricycle.

The high backrest gives added support for young kids. At 10 months they will probably not be able to pedal or indeed reach the pedals but they can practise steering (although with the special steering handle the parent stays in charge on this front). A footrest allows the child to sit comfortably.

A sun canopy provides shade. At about 15 months it may be time to take away the harness and canopy but keep the parent handle and, of course, the seatbelt.

The pedals can either be engaged so that they go round as the wheel does or disengaged to that the child can put his or her feet on the pedals without having to pedal the whole time. In a safe environment, supervised by an adult, even the parent handle can be removed and the foot rests fold neatly back out of the way.
